Legal and Regulatory Compliance
- Comply with all applicable Australian Commonwealth, State, and Local environmental legislation, regulations, and industry codes of practice.
- Meet the General Environmental Duty by taking all reasonable and practicable steps to prevent environmental harm.
Emissions Reduction and Vehicle Standards
- Operate and maintain a fleet that meets Euro IV emissions standards or higher, where practicable.
- Maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer requirements to ensure optimal fuel efficiency and reduced exhaust emissions.
- Use efficient route planning and responsible driving practices to minimise fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Pollution Prevention
- Prevent pollution to air, land, and water resulting from transport, refuelling, wash-down, and maintenance activities.
- Minimise the risk of fuel, oil, and chemical spills and ensure prompt response and reporting of any environmental incidents.
- Manage noise, odour, and dust impacts associated with transport operations.
Protection of Land and Water
- Prevent contamination of soil, waterways, and stormwater systems.
- Ensure cleaning and wash-down activities are conducted at approved locations or using approved systems.
Continuous Improvement
- Regularly review environmental performance and operational practices.
- Seek opportunities to improve environmental outcomes through improved vehicle technology, maintenance, and operational controls.
